Please review before you apply!

You should gather all documents before you begin the application.

Types of Applications

You can apply for ESL only (only enrolling in the ESL program with no intent to enroll in academics at TXST after completion) or the ESL + Undergraduate program (which offers conditional acceptance to a Bachelor's program, contigent on you completing the ESL program.

Documentation

ESL only requires no documents to apply besides the application and fee. ESL + UG will require academic transcripts. If you are applying as an international student, you will also need to have your passport copy and your bank statement available after admission to request an I-20.  You will not receive your I-20 unless you receive an “admitted” admission decision.

Proof of English Scores

If you have TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo scores, you can submit those directly to tsie@txstate.edu. They are not required during the admission process, but they will be used with the placement test to ensure that you are placed in the appropriate levels. These are not required for you to have, though.

Orientation is required for all new students. Placement tests are given during orientation. See the calendar for dates.
